Every New Years I like to spend a little bit of time reflecting on the year I've had and thinking about some intentions for the coming 12 months. This isn't a time to be critical, but rather an opportunity to let go of any expectations I once held, spend some time in gratitude for how far I've come, and simply set the tone for the coming year.
You can complete this meditation in any amount of time. Slip into calmness, focus on the breath, and then apply your oils as you read the prompts. Allow your mind to wander and relax, notice what comes up, sit with your thoughts.
It doesn't have to be New Years to benefit from this tone setting practice. You can do this at the end of a month, a week, a day or a full moon! Anytime you need a refresh and reset, come to a version of this practice again and again.
Prepare the Space
Set the mood, dim the lights, no distractions, have notebook + pen handy, chill vibes.
Diffuse vetiver, serenity, balance, frankincense, lavender or your absolute favourite calming essential oils.
Gather at least three different oils to use. Look over the following steps and the emotions index and decide what oils you're going to want for the practice based on how you're feeling in the moment.
